🔒 Core Privacy Principle: Zero Cloud Collection
WORM is designed around local direct device-to-device Wi-Fi transfers. Your personal files, photos, videos, and documents are never sent to external servers or cloud storage. All file data transfers directly between devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or sell:
- Your transferred files or file contents
- Your file names, sizes, or personal storage directory contents
- Your personal identification, email addresses, or phone numbers
- Location tracking or telemetry data
2. Local Device Discovery & Network Data
To detect nearby computers and mobile devices on your Wi-Fi network, WORM broadcasts UDP discovery packets strictly within your local area network (LAN). This information remains within your local network and is never transmitted over the internet.
3. Application Auto-Updates
The application queries our server (https://theround.online) periodically to check if a software update is available. This update check sends standard user-agent version information and receives the latest release version metadata.
4. Data Storage & Preferences
Your settings (such as custom device name, designated download directory, and trusted device lists) are saved locally on your computer device only.
